Today we had Ron and Andy aboard for some wild fishing action. These guys travel to do training here in New England a few times a year and love to try and get some fishing in during the stay. Both guys are fantastic anglers and when I told them yesterday that we might have a window with the weather it was “all systems go”. We met at the boat at 6am due to the tides today and the commute these guys had from RI. Light fog and light winds made for ideal conditions as we headed to the area that had been holding fish. After a few adjustments and looking we landed on the town dump of terns working groups of migrating Striped Bass. Both anglers ripped off a quick cast with the olive colored Albie Snax’s and Hogy Sand Eels and instantly we had our first double of the day. This action went on for roughly 4+ hours before the wind started to ramp up and things started to slow down. We released well over 40+ healthy looking Striped Bass and had countless doubles on both flies and spinning tackle. It’s always a pleasure having these guys and I look forward to seeing them again this coming fall. Thanks guys for a wonderful morning of fishing!
