Today was a tough call. When I got up and looked at the radar and saw the wind I was kind of bummed out. Much of the migratory life we had the past few days has moved on so with the conditions and lack of schooling fish today was def going to be a tough one. Once the guys arrived I made it clear it was not going to be smooth sailing and rain was coming but we all agreed that all of us are up and already there so lets give it a try. The conditions early on were not bad so the run to the fishing areas was pretty decent and smooth. No bird activity to speak of so we diverted to plan B which was to work the structure and shorelines with water temps over 58 degrees with moving water and find fish that way. This paid off bigtime and made the trip a success and kept these guys busy with well over 20 fish landed with two fish coming in that went over 15lbs on the Boga Grip and some double digit Bluefish in the mix to keep it interesting. This was a gamble going out but it turned out great as the heavy rain held off and the fishing was really good when we were on them. Thanks for a great day guys!
