Well today was one of the days you wished you could kill NOAA or the sexy lady at 6 PM on Channel 7 news. Forecast was for 5-10 NW and it blew super hard all day NE 15-25….brutal. But with that being said we still hit the water and made things happen. We made the run to the same areas of activity for the last week or so and arrived to the TOWN DUMP of birds and no other boats. For the first 2 hours we had a solid Bass to Bluefish ratio of 5-1 but that didn’t last. Most of the bass ranged from 10lb-15lbs and full of life. The Bluefish we had were not what these guys wanted but def were on the chunky side 4-10lbs and just about everywhere. After about 2 hours of this the sun cleared the cloud edge and things went silent. We ran around looking but came up short and what we did find was mostly Bluefish. After awhile of looking at the sounder we figured why not drop down for bottom fish which would be Scup, Sea Bass and Fluke. We hammered on the bottom critters limiting out on Sea Bass with the largest just shy of 7lbs and tons of Scup and two big doormat Fluke in the mix which we released as its not open at this time. Awesome day with good friends and fantastic anglers and I look fwd to having Kevin back next week for his shot at something over 25lbs!
