Plug N Play Charters

Welcome to Plug N Play Charters website. We're off and running this season with some new tactics for all styles of fishing. Whether you like tossing huge plugs into the rocks for monster Striped Bass or drifting some sea-worms along the bottom for Fluke and Sea Bass we can make it happen. We're also going to be offering some harbor tours and beach picnic excursions this season so Welcome Aboard. All feedback is encouraged.

Seminars, speaking in front of crowds……I’m not a huge fan to be honest I can’t stand it. Much like Belichick does I avoid the media and lime light and would prefer to just do my thing and be happy in doing so. But I’m not getting any younger and its time to start sharing what I’ve learned with others. So this past weekend I did one and it was received with open arms!

Blue Fin Tuna

DSC_0389The Blue Fin tuna also known as SBFT or BFT shows up in early May in some of the offshore holes and sticks around till late November. This fish can be taken on heavier spinning gear and fly rods up to 15wt with the right weather conditions and feeding patterns. Nothing beats seeing fish up to 180lb clearing the water in pursuit of baitfish like tinker mackerel, sand eels, half beaks, krill, herring, codfish, and even bluefish. This fishery is tough to judge as these fish move from day to day and we need them feeding on top for the best chance of a hook up so things change fast and be ready when they do.

**14-15wt fly rods are a must for these fish as they pull hard and take plenty of backing. We fish Cape Cod and off Rhode Island for these fish from late May until they leave in late Novemeber. I provide most gear for these fish but these fish vary from weight and size so check with me prior to fishing to see what gear will be suitable before bringing your own stuff.
